Mihama Neurology Clinic is a private physician practice, offering community-based and compassionate care in the Inage-kaigan area, Chiba, Japan. The clinic started practice on May 2003, making us the first neurology clinic in Mihama ward.
A neurologist is a special type of physician who
diagnoses and treats disorders of the nervous system. This includes diseases
of the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles. Neurologists may serve as a
consultant to other physicians as well as providing long-term care to patients
with chronic neurological disorders.
Some of the more common problems that a neurologist will diagnose and treat
are:
* Strokes
* Seizures (epilepsy)
* Headaches
* Dementias (including Alzheimer's disease)
* Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
* Parkinson's disease
* Chronic pain
The clinic is equipped with MRI, AIRIS Vento (HITACHI), which is indispensable for diagnosis and assessment of neurological diseases. The MRI has a wide open magnet so as to patients feel more comfortable while the images are taken, compared with superconductive MRIs that patients are placed in a narrow tunnel. At the clinic, MRI examination is always available whenever needed, so the patients do not have to worry about the results while waiting for the appointment for a scan.
X-ray examinations, ECG, EEG, nerve conduction studies, and electromyography are also available at the clinic.
